DESCRIPTION: A spotted longhorn beetle that can reach up to 20mm in length with a black to dark brown head and thorax, yellow elytra marked with black and yellow and black banded hind legs and antennae. BEHAVIOUR: Larvae are polyphagous live in rotten wood in deciduous trees, mainly feeding on a variety of species. Adults are very keen to visit flowers and drink pollen especially from Hogweed and Cow Parsley. DISTRIBUTION: Common throughout but less so in the far north. HABITAT: Woodland clearings, woodland edges and hedgerows. PERIOD: May to August.
